Lauren & Maurizio’s wedding was such a BLAST I’m sure people will be talking about it for years to come. After spending a lot of time getting to know L&M we collaborated with their wedding photographer, Camelot Photography Studios, and hit the road in route to the abandoned Simon Silk Mill in Easton, Pennsylvania.  The Mill was constructed in 1883 and consists of a series of run-down buildings with tons of dirt, broken glass and debris. In other words this was THE perfect location to film an insane creative / engagement shoot. Our plan was to shoot something super edgy, prior to the wedding, that would truly showcase their personalities. We were interested in exploring their relationship as a couple and how we could connect that with the wedding and make their wedding film truly unique. On location Lehigh Valley’s number-one spinmeister DJ Fly literally tore-it-up! He kept the music pumping as we worked our way throughout the dilapidated compound. Flash-forward to the wedding day. Lauren and her bridesmaids’ got ready at the Hilton Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey. They checked-in before the wedding which really took the pressure off traveling the “day-of.” Our bride looked spectacular in her Lazaro wedding dress from Bridal Garden in Marlton, New Jersey.  Our groom was rockin’ his Ike Behar tuxedo. Father Manolo performed a beautiful ceremony at St. Joseph’s Church in Maplewood, New Jersey. Afterwards it was over to The Venetian in Garfield, New Jersey along with 260 guests. Lauren & Maurizio hired an authentic London Taxi to take them from the Church to The Venetian. What a cool experience! Once at The Venetian it was easy to see why The Palazzo Ballroom is New Jersey’s top wedding destination. The staff is top notch and the room looked spectacular. The floral design by A Touch of Elegance literally transformed the ballroom (it even smelled great). Carla Friday, the owner of Details Made Simple, was a real gem and worked hard to coordinate everything! If you’ve never heard the Opera 3000 band you should. They kept the dancefloor packed all night. As the party progressed there was so much energy in the room that Maurizio literally jumped on stage with his saxophone and jammed a few songs with the band. This was yet another in a series of very special once in a lifetime moments (we haven’t forgotten about Lauren’s dance with her Dad 🙂  As a finale L&M honeymooned in Napa Valley, California and Corsica & Sardinia.
When we work on a wedding film of this magnitude it takes a lot of planning and preparation. This was one of the times I was totally psyched and couldn’t wait to start brainstorming with Lauren & Maurizio so they would have an unforgettable experience. They’re a good looking couple with great families and friends but even more importantly they’re such nice people. In the world of wedding cinematography I’m always hoping to meet couples like L&M. Stay tuned for their over the top wedding film.
Hope you love it (and each other) david  [DMS]
PS – Your new house is AWESOME!

Marissa & Chris’ wedding at Oheka Castle was nothing short of breathtaking! The above clip is a short film we call a Wedding Preview and is a sneak peek of their Wedding Feature Film. The journey began with a Creative Shoot around Long Island City, New York. Creative Shoots are tons of fun and allow us to get to know the bride & groom much more in depth prior to the wedding. Filming with Marissa & Chris showed a lot about their personalities as well as their dynamic as couple. We used this footage to take the film deeper into their personal story. We collaborated on this shoot with Master Photographer Rocco Chilelli owner of Camelot Photography Studios. Fast forward to the wedding day…  We started with Marissa at her home and then made our way to the beautiful Notre Dame Church in New Hyde Park, New York. Then it was over to the world renowned Oheka Castle Hotel & Estate where The Royal Brass Trumpeters welcomed all the guests in grand-style. The wedding was filmed with multiple high definition cameras. You’ll notice we used some old school Super 8 Film to add a bit of a vintage feel to an otherwise modern-day Wedding Film production. When we transitioned to the reception Big Hits Entertainment rocked the house all night long! From a personal standpoint I have to say Marissa & Chris were a pleasure from day one. Combining a dynamic couple (who also had a rockin’ First Dance), a great bunch of family and friends, beautiful weather, the perfect dress (watch the above clip and you’ll see) and one of the world’s great wedding destinations and you have the most spectacular wedding of the year. It was an honor to be chosen to document such an incredible event. Hope you love the film!  david [DMS]

Laura & Max

Laura & Max had the coolest Rock n Roll wedding ever! One of the many things I really like about them is their edge. They did it their way and had a ton of fun in the process. The Wedding Ceremony was held at The Hudson Theater at the Millennium Hotel in New York City. Afterwards we headed to Times Square and Bryant Park for a Creative Session. Then it was back to The Hudson Theater for quite the party. We had the opportunity to work with Photographer Laurie Rhodes who was great. Makeup was provided by Alexa Prisco, owner of the Glam Fairy. Many people know her as Alexa, star of The Style Network’s hit show Jerseylicious. Props go out to DJ Moe Choi (Choimatic) who rocked the house and is just very cool. So many interesting things to mention about this wedding I don’t know where to start. Laura’s Vera Wang Dress was unbelievable. Just stunning. Max looked pretty good too (check out his sneaks). At a certain point in the Reception Max took the stage with his guitar and sang a beautiful song just for Laura (you’ll see part of that in the next clip so stay tuned). All in all it was one of the best weddings we’ve ever filmed. So what do you do when you have that good a wedding and want to take it to yet a higher level? Can someone say Old San Juan, Puerto Rico! We hit the airport with a Tropical Creative Shoot as our agenda (I think they did that ziplining thing as well, lol). We started at the Caribe Hilton in Old San Juan. Then we visited Fort San Felipe Del Morro, a sixteenth century Fort that began construction in 1539 by King Charles V of Spain. We also filmed at Escambron Beach as well as other surrounding areas in Old San Juan. For anyone considering a destination wedding in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico I have three simple words for you, Just Do It (you can also call us if you like :)). That brings us to part three. We headed back to lower Manhattan to a very unique abandoned office building. DJ Moe Choi was in the zone once again. He’s the best DJ I’ve ever seen (or heard), hands down. Rocco Chilelli, owner of Camelot Photography Studios was the icing on the cake (no pun intended). He captured some amazing stills of this one of a kind Creative Shoot that included dust, graffiti, and an amazing sequence of Laura throwing her dress of the fifth story balcony. We tried to take the concept of Trashing the Dress to a higher level (pun INTENDED). I think it goes to show what’s possible when you have the right mix of Bride & Groom along with some great synergy from some very talented artists. Let us know what you think. Cheers! david [DMS].
