Capitale weddings are always over-the-top and Heather & Chris’ wedding certainly kept the tradition alive. Heather had her hair & makeup done at Capitale (her makeup was particularly magnificent thanks to her sister Lauren). We were able to sneak across the Brooklyn Bridge to shoot the Manhattan skyline for a little while. This backdrop added a breathtaking background to their award-winning wedding film. Father Salvatore Umana (516.868.2512) performed a beautiful ceremony. Anyone who has ever had the privilege to witness one of Father Umana’s ceremonies will attest to the emotion he interjects. Doug Winter’s – Best Kept Secret Band performed all evening. Master Photographer Rocco Chilelli and his staff from Camelot Photography Studios were once again our shooting partners for the evening. Special thanks to the staff at Capitale NY for creating a truly one-of-a-kind evening and making sure Heather & Chris had a perfect day. David – DMS Video Productions.

David, I’m completely impressed. I’m a TV lighting designer in Atlanta, and you really did a stunning job. Don’t give away any trade secrets, but I’d love some more of the details (how many and what type cameras, lights, etc.)
It always amazes me when I see wedding video done well. It’s just got to be a breakneck pace. Congrats to the bride and groom for finding you.
Daniel, thanks for the great review! The video was shot with multiple cameras including the Sony EX-1, Canon 5D and 7D (with multiple lenses). We utilized two sliders and a glidecam. Since we work at Capitale a lot we know the lighting is a challenge. I think it’s a combination of experience and knowing our cameras and environment. All the best! David (DMS)

The video was so powerful, I felt transported back in time to the venue/event. Even though I did not attend the event, through this clip I felt as if I did. Your workmanship and talent is exceptional.
I am curious…what’s the connection of the NY Water Taxi to the wedding, I see clips of NY Water Taxis several times in the video. Just wondering…Please let me know.

Thanks for the feedback. My goal was to create a powerful vision of their day. The connection with the NY Water Taxi is simple. We focus on details so while shooting in Brooklyn the Water Taxi became part of the background. In a sense it (in part) represents their day because of the location and the fact that it was literally “there” while they were. Plus it’s fun to see.

We just returned from our honeymoon and were so excited to see this clip. Thank you. It is amazing. We knew that you would do a great job and this exceeds our high expectations. It’s like you fit the whole day and night into 3 minutes and we are able to re-live the entire wedding. Also, you came through huge on your promise not overwhelm us with cameras. I know there were a lot there but it we rarely saw them. You have been an absolute pleasure to work with. We can’t wait to see the whole video.
